Jim Corbett Safari at Dhikala Zone
Jim Corbett
1 Nights / 2 Days
The Garjiya Zone is one of the prominent ecotourism zones in Jim Corbett National Park, located in the Ramnagar region of Uttarakhand, India. Known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes, Garjiya offers an exciting opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to experience the wilderness of Corbett in a relatively less crowded setting compared to more popular zones like Dhikala and Bijrani.
Opened to tourists in recent years, Garjiya Zone is gaining popularity due to its healthy tiger population and frequent sightings of other wildlife species such as leopards, elephants, sloth bears, jackals, and various species of deer. It is also a haven for bird watchers, offering sightings of numerous resident and migratory birds, particularly during the winter season.
The landscape in Garjiya is a mix of dense sal forests, grasslands, riverbeds, and hilly terrain, offering a diverse habitat that supports a wide variety of flora and fauna. The zone is named after the nearby Garjiya Devi Temple, a popular spiritual site situated on the banks of the Kosi River.
Visitors can opt for jeep safaris in both morning and evening slots, accompanied by registered guides and naturalists. Safari permits need to be booked in advance, especially during peak seasons (November to June).
